Biography

Wyatt Savant is a native of Ville Platte, Louisiana, and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Ville Platte in 2017. Wyatt graduated cum laude from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2021 with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and was named the Outstanding Graduate of Political Science by university faculty at graduation. Throughout his undergraduate studies, Wyatt was named to the President's and Dean's Lists for academic excellence, and was chosen as a recipient of the Louisiana Gas Association Scholarship in 2019 and the Tom & Lena Ritchie Pre-Law Scholarship in 2020.

While studying at UL Lafayette, Wyatt was heavily involved in the Student Government Association, serving three years as a member of the Judicial Branch, two years as Chief Justice. He also served two years as chairman of the Rules & Ethics and Student Self-Assessed Fees Oversight Committees, as well as member of the Elections Commission. Additionally, Wyatt competed as a member of the UL Lafayette Moot Court Team. Throughout the latter two years at UL Lafayette, Wyatt presented two independent special research projects to university faculty for credit towards his degree. One project analyzed the performance of local government in rural Louisiana communities, and the other outlined the Louisiana public finance laws and the election process that funds Louisiana's infrastructure.

Wyatt worked at the law firm of Mahtook & LaFleur beginning his senior year of high school, and continued during his first two years in Lafayette as a public finance section coordinator and title closing coordinator, concurrently working as a constituent liaison and legislative aide to Louisiana State Senator Eric LaFleur and executive assistant at Eunice Manor Nursing Home. The latter of the two years were spent under the supervision of LaFleur at Eunice Manor in Eunice where Wyatt continues his role as Director of Human Resources from the New Orleans corporate office.

Additionally, Wyatt has undertaken a number of successful entrepreneurial ventures over the years. Since 2018, W. Savant Enterprises, LLC, has provided a number of services to local businesses and private individuals including drone photography, I.T. consulting, and political consulting, just to name a few. Notably, in 2019, W. Savant Enterprises was contracted as a Consultant and Campaign Manager for the election of a local businessman to the Louisiana House of Representatives.

Wyatt now lives in New Orleans and attends Loyola University New Orleans College of Law as a candidate for Juris Doctor, and works as a Law Clerk at LaFleur & Laborde Law Firm in New Orleans and Director of Human Resources at Eunice Manor Nursing Home. He expects to graduate law school and sit for the Louisiana Bar Exam in 2024.
